A memorial to Tiraspol students and teachers who died in the Great Patriotic War stands in front of Transdniester State University on Tiraspol’s October 25 Street.
The plaque on the front of the memorial reads “Студентам и преподавателям павшим в боях за Родину. С благодарной памятю комсомолцы института 1978 году.” In English, this means “Students and teachers who fell in battle for their country. In grateful memory of the Komsomolets of the institute. 1978.”
